2010 Spring Sports All-stars
Tioga Central softball has had a great run over the last few years and standouts Sarah Wayson and Hailey Hoffman have been a big part of that. The two tigers were honored for their work when the New York State Sportswriter's Association named them to All-state teams. Sarah, also Morning Times Softball All-star squad Pitcher of the Year, finished the 2010 season with 229 strikeouts in 227 innings with just 26 walks in 18 games. In her 16-2 record she had an ERA of 0.62. Hailey, also Morning Times Softball All-star squad Position Player of the Year, had six doubles, five triples and one homer on the way to hitting .459. She was solid all year for the Tigers with the glove and finished with 28 runs and 21 RBI. Other Morning Times All-star squad picks were Catcher, Marissa Miller; second base, Kara McDuffee; outfielders, Raven Worthing, Aubrey Worthing and Kari Walkley.
 

Spring Sports All-stars
Tioga Central placed the following softball athletes on the IAC Small School All-star list: Sarah Wayson, Kari Walkley, Aubrey Worthing, Hailey Hoffman, Kara McDuffee, Marissa Miller and Raven Worthing. From the boys baseball squad Pattan Taylor, David Ulrich, Tommy Ferguson, Scott Foust and Nick Bailey earned IAC South Small School Division All-star honors. All five of TCS's top golfers took home IAC South Small School All-star nods this season: Ben Hutchison, Madison Timchak, Matt Morris, Ryan Vicki and Derak Heyman.

Girls Basketball
The girls enjoyed the most successful season in their history. Led by Coach Joe Robinson (class of '73) the Lady Tigers won the IAC South Small School Championship with a 16-0 record and then defeated Southern Cayuga 65-47 for the overall small school championship. Tioga then won the Section IV Class C tournament with a 52-24 win over Odessa-Montour. In the NYS Class C tournament, Tioga defeated Utica Notre Dame 60-44 to get to the final four. They then defeated Maple Hill 52-42 to advance to the finals against Marion Central, where they lost on a buzzer beater 56-54 to finish 2nd in New York State! Kara McDuffee was named Class C co-player of the year and IAC small school MVP. Kacie Hoyt was named 3rd team All-State and 1st team All-IAC. Ally Richter and Marissa Miller were 2nd team IAC All-Stars. Other team members were Kari Walkley, Korin Eckstrom, Callie Patsellis, Kylie Hunt, Sarah Wayson and Cheyenne Skinner. The girls were 22-2 overall. The majority of the team were also on the New York State Academic All-Stars Team!

Boys Basketball
The Tioga boys finished the season with a 12-7 record. They defeated Marthon in the first home sectional game in five seasons. Tioga placed four players, Eric Zwierlein, Larry Brink, Luke Dougherty, and David Ulrich on various all-star teams. Eric also won Rookie of the Year honors.

Jim Ryder's 2238 points is also a section record and ranks 6th in NY State.

Football - Fall 2009
The Tioga Tigers finished with a 6-3 record and reached Section IV playoffs for the first time since the 2003 season.

Volleyball
The girls had a great season winning their division and then the overall IAC Large School title on their way to the NYS Final Four, where they placed third.

Field Hockey
The team made it to the sectional semi-finals again this year. Kari Walkley broke the school record for career goals and signed to go to Wake Forest to play Division I field hockey.

Girls Soccer
The Tioga girls team finished the season with a 12-5 record. They went undefeated in their division and won their second consecutive division title and advanced to the sectional quarterfinals.

Wrestling
The wrestling season was filled with ups and downs. I took a full month of competition before the complete starting line-up was fielded. The team compiled a 15-4 dual record and finished ranked 5th in New York State. Tioga won the IAC Division I title, and the IAC tournament title by crowning 4 league champions. After narrowly missing the Class C Section title, the team rebounded and won its second Section IV Division II title. Josh Manuel and Derek Heyman won individual sectional titles and runner-up finished in the New York State Tournament.

Bowling
The Girls Bowling Team finished 4th in IAC Small schools and 4th at Sectionals Class C/D. Michelle Striley won a Silver Medal at Sectionals for the 2nd highest score in Class C/D.
